Does Expono preserve person tags applied using windows live photo gallery? I'd hate to tag them twice...

Yes! This is from a related reply one day ago:
A workaround is coming, but not on Tuesday. Almost all EXIF/XMP extraction compatibility problems and bugs are related to the shortcomings of our existing "EXIF" parser. It's being replaced by http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/e... which is to be considered the best parser in existence. If you want you can try it out on your photos.
I believe this will solve a lot of problems for us.
I hope we can have this done by December. We haven't decided if we are going to run a quite large background job to re-extract existing photos (which is possible). We have to run a few tests first.

Currently we don't have a solution for Windows Live Photo Gallery but we would love to support this.
I don't know how Windows Live Photo Gallery stores this information but I guess writing an Expono plugin would be a good start.
Users reading this, please vote to have this put higher on our priority list.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Yes! Please! I've got all my photos face tagged via Windows Live Photo Gallery (specifically because it stores the face tagging info with the photo) and as the PP said, I really don't want to take the time to do it again! Facebook is able to read the face tags from WLPG without problem so I'm sure it's do-able. I think (from what I've read) it stores the face tagging info with the photo as XMP data.

Inappropriate?I think this applies more than just to the Windows Live Photo Gallery. I just tagged and added descriptions to all my vacation photos in Kodak's EasyShare software. Uploading them in Flikr preserved the tags and descriptions, but uploading in Expono did not.
-
Hi Ruth. Can you make link to one of those vacation photos with tags (if they are publicly available)? So I can take a closer look at the image. Expono extracts all IPTC/EXIF we can find. However, most software uses different keywords for storing title/description/tags, so sometimes we have to make some workarounds depending on which software was used exporting the photos. -
Inappropriate?Hi Magnus, sorry I was delayed in getting back to you. Here is the link to a photo in Expono that I have made public, no tags, no description. http://www.expono.com/b_ruth/photos
Here is the link to the same photo in Flickr, with tags & description.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/43473319...
They are both uploads of the same photo, with tags & description done on my desktop using the Kodak EasyShare software.
Thanks for investigating. -
Thanks Ruth! I will take a look at this and get it fixed. :) -
Inappropriate?Hi Magnus, Any luck with this?
