Inappropriate?Hello Mike,
great feedback thank you :) and I understand your need for storing video some place else than on your PC/Mac hard drive entirely.
However, for now we are concentrating our services to reach people with needs for efficient organizing and safe sharing of photos. Of course the Expono BONUS is that your photos are stored in the original uploaded format, so if anything should happen at least Expono's members' photos are safe.
Our goal is to have happy Expono customers, who need those ever expanding features we offer. And rest assured we are adding features (as we speak) to further enhance the Expono experience.
The dedication to perfect photo storage, organizing and sharing will limit our ability to develop storage for other media types, although our platform is definitely built for it. -
Inappropriate? It's a great idea. I would love it personally, but we would also like to make Expono's Video Support better than Flickr by supporting HD and removing the 90-second video length limitation. That requires some engineering effort on the back end and we are not there quite yet.
Like Jakob said, we need to focus on photos first. Simply be the best on photos first and when our users are satisfied, take the time to consider adding support for Video (HD and no 90 second limits) -
Inappropriate?yeah, take your time, you have a great site here :D
when the video comes, please use a simple player like ipernity or flickr,
without permanent controls or info over the video. -
Inappropriate? As Flickr users are starting to rely on this feature in Flickr they will have a harder time to convert to Expono if you do not have this feature. Even though I do not have many videos, the lack of this feature alone might keep me from converting, at least at the moment as the advantages over Flickr aren't really that many.
For me it doesn't really matter if I can play 60 or 1000 seconds as long as I can import my originals from Flickr and can get them back to my computer with your promised download app (which I assume will be open source and available for Linux:) -
Inappropriate?Basically anyone can develop a download app using our API
However, we want to make a really simple download/restore application which downloads and organizes your photos locally in folders the same way they are organized in albums on Expono.
In addition we would like to download as much meta data as possible in XML files (KML for geo info etc). We have a prototype app for this, but it's far from being enduser friendly. I can't promise you any release date.
It's more important for us to beef up our API in order to open up Expono even more.
I’m excited

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?I would also like to see the option of uploading video to Expono.
Any updates on a possible ETA for this feature?
